DEPO Ventures has supported an application that will improve the gaming experience, GitGut

Billions of people around the world have fun playing computer games. However, in addition to entertainment, the games also provide space for learning and education. The Czech startup GitGut wants to break through in this fast-growing area by developing a voice assistant who, with the help of artificial intelligence, teaches players and thus improves their gaming experience. GitGut now receives total investment of 8.5 million crowns for further development including 2.5 million from the DEPO Ventures’ angel fund.

"We expect the gaming industry to continue to grow, which is why we have had this segment in our sights for a long time. GitGut takes the gaming experience to the next level. The voice coach uses artificial intelligence and is based on a deep understanding of the players, including their psychological profile. It educates them and helps them continue to grow. The project contains several of our investment verticals. However, we were most convinced by Jan Francírek - a founder of multiple startups with a lot of experience, who has a clear vision and knows exactly what he wants. We like the way he thinks about things, what his ambitions are and how open he is when communicating all successes and challenges, ”says DEPO Ventures partner Jan Krahulík.

GitGut is now focusing on the famous League of Legends game. The user downloads an application that connects him to the game using the lolAPI interface. Thanks to this, the application can recognize what specific situation the player is in. It will provide players with information about the game and analytical models will recommend the best course of action in different scenarios. This is the voice of a streamer or actor, not the synthetic voice of a robot. The application is currently completely free to download. In the future, a premium subscription is expected, which will offer players a more accurate and personalized experience based on performance and psychological profile.

"Imagine that you are playing a game and a friend is sitting next to you. A friend that knows you and game very well and helps you. That friend is also your favorite - either a streamer or an actor like Snoop Dogg. This is exactly the experience we want to create, " says Jan Francírek, the founder of GitGut.

The game community is growing rapidly, the application gained 15,000 users last year. A third of them use the application every day. Last year, GitGut also introduced two paid voice packages for players from the Czech Republic. They were spoken by actor Petr Rychlý and Vlastimil Zavřel, the voice of Czech Homer Simpson.

"This year we want to continue expanding the Czech community and at the same time create the first voice packages in English. Between half a year and three quarters, we would like to beat the limit of one hundred thousand users. We are looking for good streamers in English and famous actors. We hope that DEPO Ventures can help us with mentoring, networking and give us a hand with some general questions.“ says Jan Francírek.
